MULTIMEDIA KIOSKS (TOUCH SCREEN)
IN THE MUSEUM OF THE BYZANTINE HERITAGE OF PALAICHORI

Installed in 1999 in Greek, English, French, and German.

This provides an audiovisual multimedia to Palaichori’s churches, other monuments, Byzantine frescoes, traditional landscape, vernacular architecture, museums, traditional figures,and the natural beauties around the community.
Requested by the Association for the Protection of the Monuments of Palaichori and made possible through a donation from the Anastasios G. Leventis Foundation.

Supplied also on CD available at the entrance to the Museum of the Byzantine Heritage of Palaichori.

 


 

IN THE MUSEUM OF THE MONASTERY OF
 CHRYSORROIATISSA

Installed in 2001 in Greek, English, French, and German.

This provides an audiovisual multimedia to the monastery’s history, the prosopography of the abbots, the architecture, and the religious art works of the heritage of the monastery.

Requested by the Abbot of the Monastery, Archimandrite Dionysios, and made possible through a donation from the ANASTASIOS G. LEVENTIS FOUNDATION.

Held in The Hellenic Centre, London, 31 October – 17 December 2000

Installation of a multimedia interactive programme with touch screen system presenting an audiovisual multimedia programme (Greek and English) on the theory and practice of conservation and how these principles were adopted for the conservation of the icons presented in the exhibition. Τext, illustrations, and supervision of the production by Dr Sophocles Sophocleous. Computer work and montage by Michalis Eleftheriadis.

DOCUMENTARY ON THE ICON PAINTER HIEROMONK
KALLINIKOS STAVROVOUNIOTIS

Made possible in  collaboration with Cyprus TV, 1992.

Text and presentation by Dr Sophocles Sophocleous. Art direction by Tasos Tanteles. A documentary about the life and work of  Kallinikos Stavrovouniotis, a priest-monk at Stavrovouni Monastery, famous for his icons and wall-paintings, executed in the traditional Byzantine style.
